This is a great tour for the adventurous and photographers, as well as trekkers. You will have opportunities to profit breathtaking views of rice terrace fields stretching to the top of the mountains, to visit some ethnic villages. After overcoming the mountain pass, visitors will be satisfied with the view of the terraced fields in the dusky mist and pure white clouds. The all-yellow hillsides of ripe rice seedlings, circling around the terraces - all of these things make up a dreamy beauty; enchanting, romantic and serene.

Moreover, you will have opportunities to know Dong Van Karst Plateau, covering 4 districts of Ha Giang province: Quan Ba, Yen Minh, Dong Van, Meo Vac, recognized as Global Geopark by UNESCO in 2010.

 

DAY 1: HANOI/ NGHIA LO (201 km) (L,D)

7.30: Welcome by Guide & Driver at your hotel. Route to Nghia Lo via the new Noi Bai-Lao Cai Highway.

Nghia Lo is a town of Yen Bai set in a valley, dotted with beautiful scenery that reflects the calm lifestyle of its native ethnic groups’ culture and home to Shan tea trees more than 100 years old.

 

Lunch en route.

Arrival.  Free time to explore Nghia Lo. Dinner. O/N at Nghia Lo.

 

DAY 2: NGHIA LO/ MU CANG CHAI/ HA GIANG (B,L,D)  (258km)

 

 

Rice terrace fields

After breakfast, route to Mu Cang Chai via Khau Pha pass. Stop en route to De Xu Phin, La Pan Tan, Che Cu Nha to take photos ofrice terrace fields.  Lunch en route.

Continue to Ha Giang. Arrival & check in.

Dinner. O/N in Ha Giang

 

DAY 3: HA GIANG/ DONG VAN (B,L,D) (151km)

 

After breakfast, leave for Dong Van.

Dong Van Karst Plateau, covering 4 districts Quan Ba, Yen Minh, Dong Van, Meo Vac, is recognized as Global Geopark by UNESCO in 2010.

 

Stop en route to explore the unique small communities and scenery along the way. Drive through pine forests, and 'Heaven's Gate Pass,’ set above a deep valley dotted with fields and rock formations.

Stop for visit Twin Mountain at Quan Bathe village of Sung La and Pho Cao, where typical architecture and traditional culture of White Hmong  are still preserved.

Continue to Sa Phin, 24 kilometers from south of Dong Van,  to visit the Mansion of Vuong family, a beautiful and unique architecture of upland. The structure has been classified as a relic from 1993.

Lunch at Dong Van then continue to visit Lung Cu flag pole, at Lung Cu commune, situated on Dragon Mountain, at the foot of the pole. Lung Cu has a total area of 3,460 hectares with 9 villages and shares a 16-kilometer border with China. H’Mong and Lo Lo ethnics in Lung Cu mainly cultivate and still preserve their traditional weaving. Specially, Lung Cu preserves historical artifacts and precious cultural artifacts, thus confirms the sovereignty of Vietnam since years ago.

Back to Dong Van for check in.

DAY 4: DONG VAN/ MEO VAC/ HA GIANG (B,L,D)  (200km)

After breakfast, visit Dong Van old quarter, located in the middle of valley surrounded by rocks. The quarter is formed since the early 20th century, with some 40 ancient houses of 100 years old, belonging to H’mong, Tay and Chinese families. Especially, Mr Luong Huy Ngo' house built in 1860, is nearly 200 years old. The Dong Van old quarter has Chinese’s architecture with two-story tubular houses covered with yin and yang roofs, red lantems…and still preserves the tradition and cultural intangible values of ethnic people.

Continue to Meo Vac, via Ma Pi Leng pass, at 1,200m above sea level, located in the Dong Van Global Geopark recognized by UNESCO. Ma Pi Leng road, surnamed "Road of Happiness", 200 km long, with majestic and spectacular scenery, was built by 16 northern ethnic groups during 6 consecutive years (1959-1965).

Lunch en route. Continue to Ha Giang. Arrival & check in.

Dinner & O/N at Ha Giang.

 

DAY 5: HA GIANG/ HANOI (B,L)  (290km)

Coachtrip back to Hanoi.

Lunch en route. Continue back to Hanoi.
